Hi! My name is Corinne Nicole Arnold and I am a 19 year old aspiring fashion stylist from Chicago, Illinois. I currently attend Southern Illinois University as a freshman for a Bachelors Degree majoring in Fashion Styling and Business management.
Here is a little background knowledge for you:
As cliche' as it may sound, I have always had a passion for fashion. I believe to have had my first fashion experience by attending fashion shows for my church as a kid. In the 4th grade, I discovered my love to draw and for art and began small sketches every day. At that young of an age, I had no prior knowledge of all the different fields of fashion that I could later choose from, but the love for it always stuck in my heart. It wasn't until my teenage years that I found myself picking and choosing outfits for my friends at the mall for fun, then realizing that is what a stylist does. Since then, my love for styling grew.
In High School, I had the opportunity to be in fashion design class as an elective for 2 years and learn how to sew, create, and design clothing. This experience is something that I will use for the rest of my fashion career. So not only will I be able to style the perfect outfit, I would design it myself if I so very please.
Styling to me is not just about looking good, it is about feeling good as well. As a stylist, my sole purpose is to help others gain knowledge of their own personal style and to excel in it. I style for self encouragement and to help people feel comfortable in what they want to wear. Everyone is different, including when it comes to style, but we unfortunately live in a world where we are influenced by society that you must "look a certain way."
My call to action is to break free from the chain of society and be an outcast. You are not the next person, so embrace that! Wear that leopard print jog suit of your choice, girl. You are all beautiful!
